History of The Park Savoy Estate Wedding

The Park Savoy Estate, located in Florham Park, New Jersey, has a rich and fascinating history dating back over 100 years. Originally known as The Abbey, this grand estate was built in the early 1900s by a wealthy businessman named Paul T. Snyder. Snyder was an avid collector of art and antiques, and he spared no expense in creating a magnificent home that reflected his personal tastes.

After Snyder’s death, the property changed hands several times. In the 1930s, it was purchased by the Hanover Sewing Machine Company, which used it as a corporate retreat. During this time, the estate was renamed The Park Savoy, after a hotel in London.

In the 1950s, the estate was sold to the Episcopal Diocese of Newark, which used it as a conference center and retreat. During this time, many of the original furnishings and artwork were removed from the house.

In the 1980s, the estate was purchased by a developer who planned to demolish the house and build townhouses on the property. Today, the estate is a popular choice for couples looking for a romantic and elegant wedding venue.
